Took our two boys to Fentons Creamery for dinner and ice cream to bid farewell to summertime. There was a twenty minute wait for a table. We milled around on the sidewalk outside.
A firetruck pulled up to the curb exactly where we were standing. The doors opened and a bunch of firefighters poured out. A couple of them went into Fentons while the others invited our boys to climb aboard and look around. They even had plastic firefighter helmets for them! Then, just as the boys were finished, a call came over the radio and the firefighters said, “Gotta go!” They climbed back into the firetruck, turned on the siren, and sped away. Thank you, universe!
